Thomas F. Nickels graduated from the University of Maryland in 1980 with a dual major in Languages and Criminal Justice. While still in school, he worked full-time as the interim investigative manager for the Washington, D.C. Pinkerton office. He was one of the youngest members of the management team.
After graduation, he joined the Metropolitan Police Department and held the position of Police Officer, Third District, Washington, D.C., from 1979 until 1981. He worked as a Deputy Sheriff for New Hampshire's county department's i.e. Strafford and Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department from 1982 through 1987, and then began Nickels Investigations LLC in Manchester.
Mr. Nickel's work has been profiled in several documentaries, including the HBO movie, 'Captivated- The Story of Pamela Smart' which was released in 2014.He is currently involved in a project produced by Investigation Discovery Communications, also based on the-the1990 murder of Gregg Smart and the ensuring investigation.
Mr. Nickels has extensive knowledge of industrial espionage, corporate antitrust, insurance fraud, and criminal, civil, and family law including divorce and child custody. He established Nickels Investigations in 1987 to provide progressive investigative techniques and solutions for a diverse set of industries and clients.
